I.S.A.E. Annual Trophies

Members of the Irish Setter Association, England, are invited to submit claims for the following trophies in relation to wins during the 2022 year:

• The Rasbridge Trophy - awarded to the top Brood Bitch of the year

• The Danaway Trophy - awarded to the top Stud Dog of the year

• The Marjorie Jarosz Memorial Trophy - awarded to the top Breeder(s) of the year

• The Wendover Trophy - presented to the top winning Irish Setter of the year

(The points system for each trophy is detailed overleaf.)

Claims for the Rasbridge Trophy, Danaway Trophy and the Marjorie Jarosz Memorial Trophy should be made in writing or by e-mail to the Hon. Secretary by 31st January 2023. A photograph of the dog concerned should be included with your claim for inclusion in the Annual Review should you be the winner. NB. It is not necessary for Members to make a claim for the Wendover Trophy as the winner will be determined by the Association based on recorded wins.

Please note:

i) To be eligible for a trophy, the owner(s) must have paid their annual subscription by the last day in February in the qualifying year (as per Rule 4 of the Association’s rules) (i.e. to be the winner in 2022 the Member must have been fully paid up as at 28th February 2022).

ii) Should the winning dog be owned in partnership, both/all partners must be fully paid up Members of the Association without variation as per Rule 4.

iii) Late submissions will not be accepted.

The winners will be announced at the next Association’s Annual General Meeting. Members will be notified of the outcome of their claim in early February of that year. However, winners will be politely asked to keep their win confidential until such time as the Association’s AGM has taken place. The only exception will be to allow the winners to include details of their win in any Irish Setter year book advertisement they are producing in relation to the that year and as such the Association will accept late amendments to your advert in the Annual Review if you are the winner of a trophy. The trophies will be presented at the Association’s championship show in October of that year and will be held for one year.

NB. All trophies remain the property of the Irish Setter Association, England.

Rasbridge Trophy (Top Brood Bitch)

Qualifying points are for first generation offspring winning at Championship Show level.

• The points are awarded as follows:

- Challenge Certificate = 5 points

- Reserve Challenge Certificate = 3 points

- First prize win = 1 point

• No one dog will contribute more than 50 points towards its dams total

• In the event of a tie, one point will be awarded for each UK championship show best of breed win

Danaway Trophy (Top Stud Dog)

Qualifying points are for first generation offspring winning at Championship Show level.

• The points are awarded as follows;

- Challenge Certificate = 5 points

- Reserve Challenge Certificate = 3 points

- First prize win = 1 point

• No one dog will contribute more than 50 points towards its sires total

• In the event of a tie, one point will be awarded for each UK championship show best of breed win

Marjorie Jarosz Memorial Tropy (Top Breeder)

The criteria which will determine the winner of this trophy is as follows:

• All qualifying dogs must be bred by the same Member/Member partnership (in which case both/all partners must be Members of the Association) without variation

• Qualifying points are for first generation offspring winning at UK Championship Show level.

• The points are awarded as follows;

- Challenge Certificate = 5 points

- Reserve Challenge Certificate = 3 points

- First prize win = 1 point

• No one dog will contribute more than 50 points towards its Breeders total

• In the event of a tie, one point will be awarded for each UK championship show best of breed win

Wendover Trophy

The trophy will be awarded to the Member owning the Irish Setter which has won the most challenge certificates in the preceding year. In the event of a tie, the number of best of breed awards obtained at UK championship shows will be used to determine the overall winner. In the event of there still being a tie after best of breed awards have been taken into consideration, the number of reserve challenge certificates won in the year will determine the winner. Please note, it is not necessary for Members to make a claim for the Wendover Trophy as the winner will be determined by the Association based on recorded wins.
